Self-Service Password Reset Portal; Password Reset

Microsoft Entra self-service password reset (SSPR) gives users the ability to change or reset their password, with no administrator or help desk involvement. If Microsoft Entra ID locks a user's account or they forget their password, they can follow prompts to unblock themselves and get back to work.

You will be required to authenticate with 2 different types of methods (Microsoft Authenticator App notification AND Personal Email Address One-Time Passcode).


Reset Instructions

  1. On your machine, navigate to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
  2. Enter your ENERCON email address and pass the captcha.
    **NOTE: Do not enter the captcha in this article.**
  3. Select " I forgot my password" and select "Next"
  4. Select "Email my alternate email" and select "Email"
  5. You will receive a verification code to your personal email address on file. Go to your personal email address and retrieve the code, enter that code in the password reset portal and select "Next"
  6. In order to successfully reset your password, you must authenticate with 2 separate authentication methods. Select "Approve a notification on my authenticator app" and select "Send Notification"
  7. You will receive an authentication request to approve your login. Open your Microsoft Authenticator app, and enter the number shown on your machine.
    **NOTE: Do not enter the code in this article**
  8. Once you successfully authenticate, you will now be able to choose a new password. Enter new password in the first box and confirm the new password in the second box, then select "Finish"
  9. Once your password reset has been successful, you will receive a message, "Your password has been reset."
